like holy shit I'm supposed to download the games off of some obscure corner of the internet,
then patch the games to english (pre-patched copies are non-existent)
then change your system settings to Japanese UNLESS insert really fucking stupid criteria holy fuck why can't the patch fix all this shit how gay
And some of the games still might not work
that's not even getting into the first 5 (6?) games that aren't even on Windows, you have to import a vintage computer from Japan or run an emulator to play them
and yet these games have an enormous, active and content-pumping cult following that makes bronies look lazy and the games are 100% free?
From what I've seen these games easily have five times the polish most Japanese PC games have so why hasn't this ZUN chink put them up for retail, like how does he even make a living since all he does is make these games and occasionally license crap for them, even Andrew Hussie knows how to make money off of his franchise when he's not "le epiktroleing xdddd" his fanbase or switching between time periods, characters, scenarios AAAAA WHY IS HOMESTUCK SUCH A CLUSTERFUCK to confuse you or going all "wow I PROPERLY USED a bad trope and I made it look good (subjective!!!11) I am the god of tropers B)" but ZUN doesn't seem to care much about making money at anything, ever
but fuck why does touhou have to be so underground, all I wanted was a good freeware PC shooter (/whatever the later games in the series are, I think they're mostly fighters but I know there's at least one RPG in there??) now I have to jump through these hoops and read an online manual just to get it to work? fuck that shit I'm playing die slave, g-type, tumiki fighters and warning forever and when I get bored of those I miiiiiiiiight jump through all the hoops
OT: Hussie is an egotistical fuckerfuck who makes sure Homestuck has at least 5 different strands in it at one time because if it was linear that wouldn't be edgy enough for his 9-14 yo fanbase
