i'm pretty confident in picking forumotion but

freeforums, proboards and zetaboards looked pretty bitchin', I ended up using forumotion because I figured it was OTX standard for a reason

there's even 000, zymic and freehosting if I wanted to run my own completely independent website and install the forum software on the website but apparently that's easy to fuck up and less stable so I guess that was always kinda out

I think I'll check out the first three and see if forumotion is still my fave

how about informe (it was the original after all)
it only took a year for it to leave maintenance

it went all "le fuchuriztik unuzabel web 2.0 :-DDDDD" on all of their shit besides phpBB (and even on phpBB some) and even that seems to be priority #99999

000 has a rep for shutting down servers randomly and freehosting is having problems to say the least

zetaboards only has one theme that you can edit and freeforums doesn't even work while prophpbb is pretty decent but theme changing is a bitch and the default theme is what comes with phpbb

apparently you would have to be an xx1337h4xx0rpr0xx to properly maintain a forum whether you're hosting it or not so either I learn my shit or zymic is out too

the proboards installations I've seen were pretty gay but I'll give it a try anyways, and I'll try informe too

forumotion is OTx standard because it's fucking easy to use
